Ok, so I'm recently single as my fiancee' left me in feb. Whatever not the point. The point is you and I both know that there is music out there that just drills you in the heart when you here it. If you have one of those songs post it here. I'll start with mine and we can share our silly facination with hurting ourselves. :_(
Convenant - Invisble and silent.
your turn, post your heartbreak music. |

Bother - Stone Sour
This one put a lot of tears in my ears. An obsession song for an obsessional 'in love' guy. We left each other after a year.

the song that gets me every time is that of Vanessa Carlton's 1000 miles. Because that song was the one that me and my former g/f first danced to. At that time I didn't even know her. But now I don't even know where she is.

Dido - All You Want
The worst part was that I burned her a CD with this song as the last track, just before I gave it to her she told me "she just wanted to be friends."

I Try - Macy Gray
Free Bird - Lynrd Skynrd
Your Eyes - RENT Broadway Soundtrack
I Will Go Sailing No More - Randy Newman
Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan
Our Time is Running Out - Muse
"The multiplying villainies of nature do swarm upon him. And fortune on his damned quarrel smiling, showed like a rebel's whore. But all's too weak: for brave MacBeth -well he deserves that name- disdaining fortune with his brandish'd steel, which smoked with execution. Like valor's minion, carved out his path, 'til he fac'd the slave, which he ne'er shook hands with, nor bade farewell to."

Well, I have to admit, there are two songs that get me down even worse after a broken heart and they are
Kamelot - Abandoned
Rhapsody - Son of Pain

Instead of Sad Songs, how's this for a heartbreaker. I was in the University of Utah Jazz Band and I got an "F". I expected to date Chrissy Hynde and the director of graduate studies took offense to me because I was already a professional in music.
That was 1986 and I had to learn that girls were all dead and that God was a dog to feel better about it. I changed my interests in school to sports.

I have a few. Some are more angry than sad...but they're still fitting. In no particular order:
Cup of Coffee - Garbage
Yanking out my Heart - Nickelback
What Hurts the Most - Rascal Flats (not a huge fan of country but this song makes me cry every time)
You'll Think of Me - Keith Urban
So Sick - Ne-Yo (again, not a huge fan of rap either but this is a "good" depressing song)
Right Here - Staind
And this is the "best" Sad, depressing song in the history of songs. Breaks my heart every time I listen to it. It's very soulful.
Who Will Love Me Now - PJ Harvey
Oh, and some less depressing ones that will maybe give people hope?
Broken Wings - Mr. Mister
True Colors - Phil Collins
Stronger - Sugarbabes

Salutations,
The only ones that comes to mind right now is Death Cab for Cutie -I'll follow you into the dark, and The Goo-Goo Dolls -Iris.
I'll need to go through my iTunes library to find some others...
